Fire Training: One department fire trainings was held this month. This months training was on radios use and communication. Crews reviewed our portables and all the different possible operating channels and when to be using them, size up reports, CAN (Conditions, Actions, Needs) reports, etc.
EMS Training: This month we had two EMS training opportunities. The first was taught by staff from Penn State Hospital and LifeLion EMS Critical Care Team on Pediatric Trauma. Crews started with a lecture overview and then broke into several stations for a more focused hands on skills review on each subtopic. The second training was a dual purpose ALS assist class with paramedic staff from Lancaster EMS. Lancaster EMS is the primary Advance Life Support company that covers our area. The first part provided us an opportunity to review Lancaster EMS' gear and equipment so we can better assist them on calls. The second part was a review our of own Intermediate Advance Life Support gear and equipment so our EMT's can better serve our own Intermediate Advance Life Support providers.
This month our department send 6 members out to Clintonville Wisconsin, to the Seagrave manufacturing plant to complete the final inspection of the new Tanker 405. We are happy to report the Tanker is completed and has be delivered to the local sales rep for some equipment mounting, graphics, and minor adjustments that were found during final inspection. We expect this to take a few weeks with the truck officially being delivered in the early new year! |
