We also had several members attend outside training this month including essentials of firefighting and a training on lithium batteries.
February we had three community outreach event. The first event Deputy Chief Johnson and EMS Captain Kilheffer attended the Pequea Valley High School job fair. This is an annual event we attend for recruitment efforts for those interested in emergency services to see how we can help them with potential internship, volunteer, and career opportunities. The second event had several members from our EMS division attend the Wellspring Health Clinic's community event where we assisted teaching the following topics: CPR/AED, Stop the Bleed, Choking, and Splinting. The third event had the EMS division at a Little Lambs Preschool where we met with the kids and did a show and tell of one of our ambulances.
February we also held our annual members appreciation banquet. The evening consisted of a meal, video presentation and speeches from the Chief, President, and our medical director Dr Michael Reihart as a guest speaker. Several members were recognized for top responder, top training hours, firefighter of the year, EMS provider of the year, as well as all clinical saves and pre hospital deliveries the department had in 2024. We also took this time to recognize former Deputy Chief Doug Brubaker who stepped down this year after 30+ years of service as a Chief officer due to moving out of the area. |
